Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Mountain Yoga Immersion

The Experience

Nestled between two of Americas greatest treasures: Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, the beautiful mountain town of Jackson Hole lured us in and has never let us go. Epic vistas, the towering Tetons, amazing wildlife, world class skiing and snowboarding, and a culture of health and pushing the limits of the human ability – this sets the stage for your education and transformation through yoga.

The Venue

Akasha Yoga is housed in Jackson Hole's first schoolhouse, just 3 blocks from the vibrant Jackson Town Square, in the shadow of Snow King Resort. The large windows and mountain views offer you a space that invokes clarity and connection to nature. The practice space is minimal and inviting, walking distance from Healthy Being and Persephone Bakery. This is a studio based venue, meaning we do not provide accommodation. However, there are many options nearby, and we can assist in placing you in housing that fits your budget. Just ask us we’ll get you set up.

The Yoga Immersion

Wether you are looking to deepen your practice or teach one day, all levels are welcome. We offer support and modifications for newer students or those with injuries, as well as options for more experienced practitioners to move deeper. Typically, we’ll have an invigorating, energizing, morning asana practice and one grounding, restorative afternoon practice, amidst lectures, workshops, meditation, pranayama, mantra, classical and tantric yoga philosophy, functional anatomy.

A Typical Day

Awaken to crisp mountain air and be greeted by sleeping elk or moose. Morning sessions begin around 7:30am for the immersion group typically begin with meditation, contemplation, mantra and pranayama (breath work). After a short break, we’ll follow by an energizing asana practice at 9am with an expanded group, so that students might experience the teachings with a wider community. We’ll break for brunch at 10:30, and return for workshop, lecture or discussions about 1:30 or 2pm. The last afternoon session is typically a grounding, relaxing or therapeutic practice or lecture, with a short break in between, ending by 6pm. Daily schedule may vary based on the needs of the group.



The Lifestyle

Out mountain town is home to some of the most epic adventurers. Our deep and personal connection to nature has created a community that lives and breathes for getting out there, to hike, ski, ride, climb. While our high elevation lifestyle often pushes the limits of our physical body, we look towards yoga, mindfulness, meditation, ayurveda, and various health and wellness practices to nourish and sustain our body and mind.

The Area + Activities

While our immersion will fill your days, consider spending evenings in quiet assimilation, warmth, and rest. When not practice, you might cross country ski along The Snake river, take a hike in Cache Creek or have a look at the National Elk Refuge. If you can take a few days before or after the training, don’t miss Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, or snowmobiling in the Gros Ventre range. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee and the Teton Pass offer world class skiing and snowboarding- a great option if you’d like to make the trip with your partners or family. The Instructors


Neesha Zollinger

Neesha is RYT-500 and E-RYT-500 Certified Anusara Yoga® Instructor, Certified Continuing Education Provider with Yoga Alliance and brings 19 years of yoga and dance experience to her classes.  She teaches a life affirming philosophy that includes a heart centered approach to an elegant set of biomechanical alignment principles.  Neesha began her Anusara® studies with Margot Snowdon in 1999 and has studied with its founder, John Friend for 9 years. Neesha’s teaching has taken her around the globe several times and is also a featured instructor on She hopes to share the joy of expansion of your whole being through this empowering practice.

Wanna Johansson

I have 20 years of yoga practice and am ERYT-500 Instructor. I started practicing yoga in 1998 as a relief from a back injury, pain and trauma. In 2008 opened a yoga studio in Portland, Oregon, and was certified in the Anusara method. Since 2014, I’ve been assisting and training with Tara Judelle in Embodied Flow™, a yoga methodology that integrates the biomechanics and alignment from my Anusara background with the philosophy of Tantra, embodiment practices inspired by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Embodied Anatomy and Somatic psychology. My yoga background is diverse, I’ve studied Anusara, Tantra, Vipassana, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Somatic Movement and Nigerian dance.


Getting to Jackson

We are best reached by flying into the Jackson Hole Airport which is only about 15–20 minutes from Akasha Yoga and the center of town.

The Salt Lake City Airport is a 5 hour drive. The Salt Lake Express offers bus service from SLC Airport to the Albertsons in Jackson.

March weather can anywhere from be Spring conditions with clear roads, or snow with challenging visibility. We recommend giving yourself ample time to travel before and after the immersion.

Plan to arrive on March 12th so you can settle in for a night before we begin on the morning of the 13th.
